11/04/2025: In the presence of Nablus Governor Mr. Ghassan Daghlas, Chairman of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Sameh Al-Masri, Chairman of the Businessmen Forum Mr. Abdul Raouf Hawash, Director General of the Ministry of Culture in Nablus Governorate Ms. Samah Al-Kharouf, along with representatives from several ministries, official institutions, associations, and cultural centers, and under the patronage of the Mayor of Nablus, Dr. Hussam Al-Shakhshir — The Multi-Purpose Community Resource Center (MCRC), affiliated with Nablus Municipality, inaugurated today the permanent exhibition of the Old City titled "Blood Detention" at the center’s headquarters. Dr. Hussam Al-Shakhshir, Mayor of Nablus, emphasized the municipality’s ongoing commitment to implementing restoration projects within the Old City to preserve its historical heritage. The Old City is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban centers in the region. He noted the dedication of all city institutions to supporting cultural centers in the Old City and enhancing their various cultural and heritage programs by organizing a series of events and activities within these centers. The Governor of Nablus expressed his pride in this achievement, which affirms the resilience and determination of the Palestinian people to remain on their land despite the ongoing pressures imposed by the Israeli occupation. Mr. Ayman Al-Shakaa, Director of MCRC, highlighted that this inauguration reflects the Center’s and Municipality’s dedication to protecting the authentic heritage of the Old City and the city of Nablus at large. He emphasized the importance of preserving the historical legacy of the Old City, including its homes and palaces that have stood for decades. Al-Shakaa also invited the public to visit the permanent exhibition, which features a carefully curated collection of photographs that narrate the historical evolution of life within the Old City. Attendees toured the exhibition’s halls, expressing their admiration for the space and the visuals on display. It is worth noting that the site’s restoration was supported and supervised by the Welfare Association (Taawon).
